Young Carers Awareness Day

Young Carers Awareness Day is on 26 January 2017. This day is aimed at recognising the hard work young carers do and how caring for their sick brother, disabled mother, dad, sister or friend can have a huge impact in their lives There are about 700.000 young carers in UK who without proper support, would not cope. Carers Trust

This year's theme is 'When I grow up' and it's all about helping young carers to achieve their dream jobs or career.

VCSE Response to Manchester Local Care Organisation Prospectus Consultation

New Report - Monitoring poverty and social exclusion 2016

The latest annual Monitoring poverty and social exclusion report, comissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and compiled by the New Policy Institute, brings together the most recent data to present a comprehensive picture of poverty in the UK. The report showed that:

- In 2014/15, there were 13.5 million people living in low-income households, 21% of the UK population. This proportion has barely changed since 2002/03.

Championing Self Care Approaches in Manchester

Local Care Organisation Prospectus Consultation

The three Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have written an open letter to the voluntary and commuity sector in the city to invite comments on their plans for the new Local Care Organisation (LCO). 

In their letter, the chairs of the North, Central and South Manchester CCGs explain how the LCO fits into the plans for devolved health and social care in Greater Manchester and confirm that it will be the organisation that holds and delivers a single contract for out-of-hospital care in the future.

Manchester Neighbourhood Profiles Published

Neighbourhood profiles for the 12 One Team Localities across Manchester have been developed and published by Manchester City Council. 

The main purpose of the profiles is to to support the development of out of hospital and urgent care services at a local level and to help the 12 integrated neighbourhood teams in Manchester (and other people delivering services at a local level) to determine their priorities, agree the outcomes they want to achieve and think through the ‘how, what and where’ of service delivery.
