Finding a job can be tough, especially if the world has moved on since you were last looking. That's why three Manchester organisations are joining together to offer IT training for women - for free. The Digital Skills for Women in Manchester workshops, taking place in five libraries from January to July 2013, will equip women with the tools they need in today's workplace.
There are four courses available: Basic IT skills, Social Media, Introduction to Web Development and Introduction to Programming.
Volunteers will soon benefit from a free service which will allow them to re-use criminal records checks time and time again, the government announced today.
The move will cut red-tape and reduce the burden on those who give up their time to work with vulnerable groups.
Some of you will know that Manchester has put itself forward to undertake a peer review of safeguarding services, which will be done in February 2013 (see attached for further information).
Greater Manchester BME Network have announced their ‘Greater Manchester BME Training Bursary Scheme.’
The bursary scheme will provide members of the Greater Manchester BME Network access to training that is being provided. i.e. this may be training from other infrastructure organisations from across the boroughs and regionally or could be other service providers from the private or public sector.
It is hoped that BME/RCO groups will take up the offer that is provided to enable them to access training that they may have not been able to access due to cost.
Development Education Project (DEP) has been funded by WEA/ESF to deliver this NEW community learning project.
The project will run as a 10 week programme on a weekly basis for one day a week and the guided learning hours will be 30 hours with additional support available for one to one support.
