A tale of two cities

Monday 22 July 2019 marks 100 years (to the day) of the formation of Manchester and Salford Council of Social Service. Macc, Salford CVS and Gaddum have worked together to mark the occasion with a celebratory event at the People’s History Museum. We felt it is important to mark 100 years of social action across the twin cities of Salford and Manchester.

ESF Community Grants – Greater Manchester 2019-2021

Over the next two years, the ESF Community grant programme will help thousands of people who face additional barriers in the workplace to improve their employability and gain permanent employment. WEA

The WEA will distribute small grants of up to £20,000 across Greater Manchester to eligible organisations in the VCSE sector between June 2019 and May 2021.

Achieve Your Goals – Free adult learning courses

The National Football Museum’s new courses use the theme of football to make learning fun and relevant. Join in, build confidence, gain employability skills and meet new people.

Courses are held at the National Football Museum, 3 days a week, for 4 weeks (lasting for 50 hours in total). Football is used in creative ways; to learn about customer care, money and time management, maths, reading and writing skills and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The next course starts on Tuesday 7 May.
