Why?
Increase skills, knowledge and confidence and meet others. The Manchester Advice Volunteer Project will provide training for roles in advice activities. You do not need any prior experience!
What can you do?
Want to increase your skills, confidence and knowledge, gain work experience and meet new people?
The Manchester Volunteer Advice Project need Administrators, Receptionists, Interpreters, Advisors, Immigration Assistants, and Training and Recruitment Assistants for local advice organisations Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN), Centre Point, Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit, Cheetham Hill Advice Centre and Manchester Mind.

Now in their fourth year, the University of Manchester’s annual Making a Difference Awards for social responsibility are now open for entries. The awards recognise and celebrate the many different types of social responsibility achievements of University staff, students, alumni and partners in local communities.
Students will leave Xaverian College with the academic skills needed to pursue their chosen career. However it is the practical, hands-on skills that can only be learnt on the job that their students seek, in order to help them to excel.
City Year UK believe that young people can change the world. For a full academic year the City Year volunteers, aged between 18-25 years, act as role models and mentors to children in schools in disadvantaged communities, helping them to reach their full potential.

The Social Mobility Foundation supports ambitious young people from less-privileged backgrounds to access top universities and careers. They run completely free of charge programmes featuring mentoring, internships with top companies, university application support, as well as professional development and skills workshops for high achieving young people across the UK.
With more than 200 types of apprenticeships across many industry sectors - from finance to law, engineering to science, retail to healthcare - there is an apprenticeship out there for you.
Apprenticeships are real jobs and real careers with training. As paid employees, apprentices earn a wage and learn on the job while also attending college and working towards nationally recognised qualifications.
On Wednesday 20 September, 4 Steps moved their desks, laptops and mentors into the training room at Burnage Community Centre for a Learn to Earn event.
They wanted to let people who use the Southway Housing Trust Quids In service know that they hold free advice sessions on Wednesdays. 4 Steps helped three people on the day, made three men and two women aware of their workbenches and gave information about their advice service to a further 10 people.
