Big Give Christmas Challenge 2013 – For Charities

6 Sep 2013 - 09:50 by michelle.foster

The Big Give runs annual Christmas Challenges where you can have your donation matched, making your support go even further.

The Christmas Challenge is proven to help charities increase voluntary income, recruit new donors and re-engage with lapsed donors, leading to a more secure and brighter future.

The Big Give is delighted to announce that the Cabinet Office will be supporting the 2013 Big Give Christmas Challenge with a generous grant of £250,000.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge has raised over £40million for thousands of charities by doubling online donations from the public.

The Cabinet Office will support 50 charities this year and, alongside ‘pledges’ raised from these charities’ major donors, their funds will help to double donations to these charities in December. The unique matching model, which brings together government, companies, foundations, trustees and the public, means that the Cabinet Office funds will be the catalyst for over £1million of donations.

Donations will be doubled on a first come first served basis and funds are likely to run out quickly. Last year’s Challenge was incredibly popular and saw over 11,000 online donations in just three days to raise over £10million. Donations will begin being doubled at 10am on 5th December, with further funds released at 10am on 6th and 7th.
