Worrying results: over half of charities see property as a problem.

53% of charity survey respondents so far say that their property is preventing them from achieving their charitable objectives
58% experienced difficulties in obtaining property funding in the past 3 years.

The 4th Charity Property Matters Survey is a unique research project run by the Ethical Property Foundation, in partnership with the Charity Commission and Charity Finance Group. Launched in January 2018, the Survey has so far been completed by over 400 respondents across England & Wales.

Early results reveal:

  • One in four charity respondents say that they spend 20% or more of their income on property
  • 26% of charity respondents find getting access to advice or information on property issues hard or very hard
  • 53% of charity respondents say that their property is preventing them from achieving their charitable objectives
  • 58% of charity respondents say that difficulties in obtaining funding for their property has been an issue in the past three years or will be an issue in the next three years

The Survey is independent of the property industry and gives the chance for everyone who works in the non-profit sector in England and Wales to consider how property issues affect their organisation. http://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CPM18
