Do you live, work or volunteer in Collyhurst and have an idea that could improve the area?

If so, you could be awarded cash and support through the Star People programme to help change Collyhurst for the better.

Come along to Church of the Saviour, Eggington Street, Collyhurst, M40 7RN on Thursday 5th December between 12pm and 2pm for a chat and a brew to find out more.

Groundwork is working in partnership with UnLtd, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs to raise awareness of the Star People programme in Collyhurst, Manchester.

Groundwork and UnLtd believe that the best way to make a community better is to ask the people who live in it what they would do differently, and then help them do it. That’s why they support people like you to launch projects that improve your community.

They do this by awarding cash and support in three ways:

• ‘Try It’ Awards – Up to £500 of funding and support, to take the first steps towards running your own project and gaining the skills needed to run it

• ‘Do It’ Awards – Up to £5,000 of funding and support for people who are confident their project will work.

• ‘Build It’ Awards – Up to £15,000 of funding and support that can help you take the big step towards running your project full time
