The Dream Fund 2018 – now open for applications

3 Aug 2018 - 11:10 by michelle.foster

The Dream Fund gives organisations the chance to deliver the project they have always dreamed of, but never had the opportunity to bring to life. Charitable organisations across Great Britain are asked to think big, be ambitious and collaborate with other not-for-profit partners to deliver their dream project. Postcode Dream Trust

The Dream Fund was created to encourage charities to collaborate and apply for their dream project, the project they have always wanted to deliver but never had the opportunity to do so.

The Dream Fund supports charities to develop innovative solutions to society’s most challenging problems. Applications that can score highly in their originality, ambition and collaborative nature stand the highest chances of being successful.

The Dream Fund accepts applications that meet one of the following five funding priorities:
1. Changing Lives Through Early Intervention
2. Ending Loneliness and Social Isolation
3. Protecting Britain’s Biodiversity
4. Sustainable Systems Change
5. Transforming Society through Sport

Charities can apply for up to £1 million to deliver their Dream project. The minimum amount that can be applied for is £500,000.

Here are details of which organisations are eligible to apply for funding and which are not:
• Charities in Great Britain
• Lead partners who are registered charities with official charity numbers (i.e. registered with the Charity Commission or with OSCR)
• Supporting partners must also be not-for-profit organisations but do not have to be registered charities (partners can be CICs, CIOs, CASCs, voluntary organisations etc.)
• Universities, research and further education institutes can apply as a partner organisations only but not as leads
• Charities who have an annual income at least twice the amount that is being applied for (i.e. if applying for £500,000 then the lead applicant must have an income of at least £1 million and if applying for £1 million then the lead applicant must have an income of at least £2 million as evidenced by their latest audited accounts)
