Gaddum Befriending Service – volunteer wanted

4 Mar 2016 - 10:00 by michelle.foster

Would you like to help an older person in your local area?

Gaddum Befriending Service is a free new service, funded by the JT Blair Charitable Trust that supports socially isolated people over 60 in Manchester and Salford. The befriending co-ordinator aims to match up individuals with a volunteer befriender who would visit them regularly for social interaction.

The Gaddum Centre are looking for volunteers who can give at least two hours a fortnight to visit socially isolated older people living in Manchester.

As a fully trained and supported befriender you’d visit an older person to chat, enjoy a cup of tea, or do an activity you both enjoy.
