Help shape Transport for the North's strategic plan

10 Nov 2016 - 09:59 by michelle.foster

If you're part of a campaigning group, community group or NGO in the North of England, here's a chance to help shape the future of road and rail transport.

Transport for the North (TfN) is developing a long-term Strategic Transport Plan, covering both road and rail. Its purpose is to bring transformational economic growth, unlocking economic activity and jobs by improving connectivity across the North of England. In developing its Strategic Transport Plan, TfN aims to balance its economic goals with social and environmental outcomes.

Campaign for Better Transport is working with Transport for the North on this project, facilitating engagement with environmental and sustainable transport stakeholders.

As part of this, workshops are being held to seek NGO views on the key social and environmental issues affecting the TfN Strategic Transport Plan.

The first round of workshops are taking place on:
• Friday 18 November in Newcastle
• Tuesday 22 November in Leeds
• Friday 25 November in Manchester

Tickets are free but space is limited, to register, visit: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/transport-for-the-north-stakeholder-workshops-tickets-29053717451
