19 Dec 2017 - 14:28 by michelle.foster

Formed in 2002, Pennine Care has grown to become a leading provider of community and mental health services. Their vision is to deliver the best care to patients, people and families in local communities, by working effectively with partners to help people to live well.

They provide care to thousands of people every day. The community and mental health services support around 2.4 million patient contacts each year across six boroughs of Greater Manchester - Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop and Trafford.

As well as looking after their patients, the Trust looks after 5,500 staff, and are proud to be listed in the HSJ and Nursing Times ‘Top 120 Places to Work’ list (2015). Staff are supported to continue their professional development with relevant training and progression opportunities.

The Trust provides support to all new starters, in patient facing roles bands 1 to 4, to successfully complete the Fundamental Care Certificate standards relevant to their role. The certificate provides knowledge and skills to enable staff to perform safely and effectively.

Bury Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector wishes to appoint an Independent Chair, salary: £20,000 - £30,000 per annum.

Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector groups have an enormous contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of the population and implementing the Bury Locality Plan.

This exciting new position will provide independent leadership for the VCFS Board and lead on the Enabling Local People Work Stream in the Bury Locality Plan and the associated duties.

The Independent Chair will have the ability to lead meetings with authority and credibility and will be a positive visible figurehead for the VCFS in Bury.

The Independent Chair will have experience of working within the VCF sector at a strategic and Senior Management level; experience of change management at a significant and strategic level and personal and professional resilience to overcome barriers and challenges in the context of Public Reform.

Appointments to regulated and controlled activities will require an enhanced DBS disclosure.
