Small Charites Week 2018 18-23 June

1 Jun 2018 - 11:43 by michelle.foster

Small Charity Week celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector who make an invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world. Small Charity Week 2018

Day 1 – I ♥ Small Charities Day, Monday 18 June
Small Charity Week 2018 will kick off with I ♥ Small Charities Day on 18 June. This is a day to raise awareness of the work of all small charities across the UK. Getting involved is easy and your small charity has the chance to win up to £450.

I ♥ Small Charities Day Social Media Competitions
There are three competitions on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to help raise the profile of small charities with cash prizes for the winners.

Prizes
• #ILoveSmallCharities Twitter competition – winning small charity gets a £150 donation
• #ILoveSmallCharities Facebook competition – winning small charity gets a £150 donation
• #ILoveSmallCharities Instagram competition – winning small charity gets a £150 donation

How to enter: Take a photo of yourself holding up a poster that reads: “I love (your charity’s name) because (why you love them)”. Then simply post it to either Twitter, Instagram or the Small Charity Week Facebook page, depending which competition you wish to participate in.

Day 2 – Big Advice Day, Tuesday 19 June
Big Advice Day 2018 will involve a national London event and various regional events across the country where small and local charities and community groups (those with a turnover up to £1.5 million) can access free expert 1:1 advice on a variety of topics.

Day 3 – Policy Day, Wednesday 20 June
Small charities are the centre of Civil Society. In the UK 97% of charities have an annual turnover of less than £1.5 million, but in terms of impact on local communities here and across the globe their contribution is phenomenal.

It is therefore important that the voices of small charities are heard above the noise created by larger and better resourced charities. To mark Policy Day 2018, events will be held both in London and around the country to raise the profile of these organisations with policy makers and influencers.

Day 4 – Fundraising Day, Thursday 21 June
Fundraising Day is the perfect opportunity for small charities to engage with current and new supporters to get fundraising. Fundraising Day 2018 will take place on 21 June with plenty of free events, initiatives and resources for your charity to engage with.

Localgiving Small Charity Week Challenge
To celebrate Small Charity Week 2018 Localgiving are delighted to announce their Small Charity Week Challenge. Launching on Monday 18 June and running throughout the week, local charities and community groups will be entered into a competition with the chance to win one of 25 financial prizes to support their online fundraising efforts. Day 5 – Small Charity Big Impact Day, Friday 22 June

Through the FSI Small Charity Big Impact Awards, small charities and community groups can highlight their work and the impact they make on a local, national and international level.

The winners will be announced on Small Charity Big Impact Day on 22 June 2018.

Day 6 – Celebration Day, Saturday 23 June
