Social Eating programme – invitation to bid

13 Apr 2018 - 09:56 by michelle.foster

Ambition for Ageing is seeking to create partnerships to develop and compare a range of sustainable social eating schemes within a diverse range of communities in Greater Manchester. Ambition for Ageing

Social eating has a number of benefits for the emotional wellbeing of older people. It instils feelings of community, identity and self-worth, provides a sense of structure and routine and establishes a regular event to look forward to. This new programme seeks to increase the number of opportunities for older people to eat together in Greater Manchester, thereby creating a range of social occasions where people feel they belong, can bond with existing friends and make new connections.

The work will be delivered across at least four of the following areas: Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside and Wigan. Ambition for Ageing is looking for a partnership of organisations who will develop a range of social eating projects in Greater Manchester for people over 50 at risk of social isolation. Ambition for Ageing also wants the partnership to produce a guide on how to deliver these projects.

The contract period will run from July 2018 until March 2020. The contract value is £250,000.
