Would you like £200 to run a Make Smoking History event?

27 Mar 2019 - 10:46 by michelle.foster

Greater Manchester’s Make Smoking History campaign has launched with posters, leaflets, TV adverts, information on buses, social media and lots more resources.

Making Smoking History

The campaign is offering three mini-grants of £200 each for organisations to run events aimed at mothers with young children, as they have found this group is less likely to see the campaign materials. It’s up to you what type of event you run, but suggestions have included discussion groups and a stall in a shopping centre.  The events need to take place by 30 April.

If you would like to apply for a grant, please email: [email protected] by 5 April and tell us:
• The type of event you want to run
• Roughly how many people you think will see the campaign materials
• Whether you would be able to follow up with them after one month to see whether they have made any changes to their smoking as a result of seeing the campaign information
• Any other information you think will be helpful

If we get interest for more than three groups, we will choose three based on the number of people reached, how many of these are likely to be mothers with young children, potential for follow up and organisations based in more deprived neighbourhoods.
