Housing Futures: Community-led Alternatives for Greater Manchester is an action research partnership and the events programme is aimed at building up a Greater Manchester network of people, groups and organisations interested in promoting community-led housing, while also in thinking through the potential and challenges associated with these models.

They are particularly interested in thinking through what co-housing, community land trusts, and a variety of housing cooperative models have to offer low-income neighbourhoods potentially facing either decline or gentrification.

Community Leaders join Greater Manchester’s Devolution Reference Group

The Greater Manchester Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Devolution Reference Group has welcomed two new members.

Khadija Tily, Operations Manager at the regeneration and development charity KYP in Rochdale) has over 35 years’ experience working in education and the VCSE sector. Her 20 year vision for Greater Manchester is to see a marked change and improvement in specific localities that have not seen sufficient development in the last 30 years. She fears that the dialogue and landscape have changed very little in that time.
