Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) North West is working with Historic England (HE), the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), Manchester City Council and Macc to deliver a year-long programme of activities for community based groups with aspirations of managing heritage buildings. We recognise that the passion and energy of such groups needs to be matched with knowledge and skills that groups sometimes lack, and we will be offering a series of workshops which help tackled these gaps.
We are offering groups the opportunity to come together as a group and build on their existing knowledge. As well as the opportunity to share information and knowledge we will offer a free programme of events that covers key aspects of managing a heritage building.
The Network was launched on Tuesday 8 March 2016, click here for information about the launch event.
Key outcomes of the programme:
• Groups will be more knowledgeable about what is involved in managing a heritage building
• Groups have a better understanding of how to plan and deliver a capital works programme, including how to source funding
• Skills, knowledge, expertise and volunteers will be shared within the network
Who is this for?
The programme is aimed at not-for-profit community-based groups in Manchester who are either responsible for, or have aspirations to, manage a heritage building. Some may be looking at or going through the asset transfer process. Our key audience is groups in Manchester; however where there is space we welcome groups from Greater Manchester. The programme is by invitation only.
