Recent conversations with people with a Learning Disability have highlighted the difficulties they can experience in finding out what services and activities are available in their local area.
In January a lot of people take the time to reflect and think about what the year ahead may look like for them, both professionally and/or personally and a lot of the time volunteering can find its way on to the list of ‘things to do’ this year.
Unfortunately though, it doesn’t always get crossed off the list and that isn’t because people can’t be bothered or have gone off the idea, a lot of the time it’s they don’t know how to get started.

We recently awarded grants to applicants to our Mental Health Grants Programme and will be realising the data on our Open data page soon.
The Mental Health Grants Programme is provided by NHS North, Central and South Manchester CCGs and administered by Macc.
The call focuses on increasing investment by SMEs in research and innovation and increase the number of SMEs engaged in work with research or public institutions and large enterprises to help bring new products to market. 
The call focuses on engaging and mentoring individuals and communities to strengthen entrepreneurial and enterprise culture. Also, bidders will be supporting start-ups and new businesses to improve business survival and help them grow to continue to be a major force in the Greater Manchester economy.
The biggest beer and cider festival in the North is hoping to attract a new charity partner for 2018 and 2019. 
Manchester City Council is seeking to have a number of providers on an Approved list who can deliver a range of different options for short break services to children and young people with a disability. 
The Manchester BME Network are excited to announce that they will be having a Manchester BME Network awards ceremony to showcase and reward the fantastic work being done by 
their members and supporters. There will be a community meal first followed by entertainment, awards and a raffle (proceeds will go to the Sylvia Sham Legacy Fund).
Manchester Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) brings together a number of agencies across the city to ensure there is a joined up approach to safeguarding. Safeguarding means protecting a child’s right to live in safety. 
Now in its third year the Celebration of Innovation event recognises the vast array of knowledge and skills that Manchester's Youth Sector offers and brings together resources designed 
to aid work with young people and organisational productivity. The event aims to be a participatory experience with attendees having the opportunity to learn about a host of different resources whilst also workshopping emerging ones.
