Introduction to Equalities

Staying on the right side of equality and diversity legislation is important for any organisation. This new workshop will ensure that your organisation is meeting its responsibilities.

Workshop will focus on:

  • Current law on equalities and protected characteristics
  • What the responsibilities of your organisation and service are
  • What to consider when making ‘reasonable adjustments’ and things to consider when designing an accessible service. 

Delivered by Karen Dyson - this workshop will use a mix of presentation, case studies, games and other materials.

About the trainer:
Karen is Macc’s Policy and Influence manager. She has worked in and with the VCSE sector throughout her career, working on several pieces of equalities work including developing a community cohesion strategy for a Greater Manchester authority, writing an equalities guide and training resources for Citizens Advice and delivering equalities training for domestic abuse organisations.  She is also a trustee and equalities lead for two charities.
