Training for school staff

This one day workshop will focus on increasing participants’ under-standing and awareness of equality and diversity when working with children and families who have settled in the UK. It will aim to:
• Explore differences in family functioning, child rearing and safe-guarding across cultures
• Review local and national policy and legislation and the impact of discrimination
• Identify good practice and specific actions that participants can implement in their own schools

The training will be delivered by health, education and social care professionals with extensive experience of working with children and families from black and minority ethnic cultures in schools and other settings.

This workshop is aimed at all school staff and will also be helpful for practitioners working in health and social care with children and families who have migrated from abroad. Students and trainees are also welcome.
