Description of opportunity:

 

We are looking for comedy-loving volunteers to boss a bucket or card machine at Romesh Ranganathan’s Hustle 2024 tour at the Manchester AO Arena on Saturday 8 June 2024, 7pm to 10.45 pm.

Join our team of volunteers from Teenage Cancer Trust and CALM to collect donations to be split across the two charities. With your support Teenage Cancer Trust aim to make sure that every young person with cancer gets the best care and support. You will be helping CALM take a stand against suicide by offering life-saving services and bringing people together to reject living miserably.
 

Please note this opportunity is open to volunteers aged 16+ only, due to the nature of the show and the fact that alcohol will be widely consumed in the venue.

You will be supported by a dedicated staff member or lead volunteer in person at the show.

What will I do?

  • Collect donations from gig-goers before the show, at the interval and as they leave the venue
  • Help raise awareness and engage the public with the work of Teenage Cancer Trust and CALM, simply by being there in our branding.
  • Be a friendly and approachable face of the charities

 

What will I gain?

  • Support at the event from a dedicated volunteer manager
  • Help Teenage Cancer Trust to make sure every young person with cancer gets the best care and support
  • Help CALM take a stand against suicide by offering life-saving services and bringing people together to reject living miserably. 
  • Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our volunteer expenses policy.
  • Possibly the chance to see the show (we can’t guarantee this)

 

What skills do I need?

  • Enthusiasm for the work of Teenage Cancer Trust and CALM.
  • The ability to engage with the public
  • Reliability and punctuality
