fundingThe Forever Manchester Let’s Create Jubilee Fund in partnership with Arts Council England is now open for applications from Community Groups in Greater Manchester.

The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund is offering awards of between £750 and £10,000.

The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund welcomes applications from voluntary and community groups based in any of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, supporting them to develop creative and cultural activities across the country as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

Who can apply?
The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund is open to voluntary and community organisations with charitable aims and working towards a common goal which does not have to be based solely around arts and culture. This could include youth groups, parent/carer groups and volunteer organisations.

Applicants must be based in one of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester and have been formally established for at least 12 months at the time of submitting an application. They should also be able to show they have experience of managing projects of a similar scale to the one they are applying for.

What can you apply for?
The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund encourages voluntary and community groups to partner with established artists, creatives and cultural organisations to develop community activities which celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. The following are some project ideas but applicants are encouraged to be as creative and innovative as they like.

  • Local residents and artists creating and performing a community play inspired by and about the jubilee
  • A neighbourhood inviting artists or a musician into their community space to perform.
  • A spoken word and poetry event
  • A carnival
  • A photography exhibition celebrating local images from the last 70 years, chosen and presented by a professional curator and gallery technician
  • An outdoor music performance with new music created by local young people
  • A street party featuring food, music and art from the different cultures of local residents.

Funded projects can’t start before the 1 April and must culminate in creative and cultural activity for the community which takes place in June.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to partner with local professional artists.
