Hate Crime Awareness Week 2022 Grants Programme

no place for hate

Hate crime has no place in Manchester. Everyone has the right to feel safe and we all have a responsibility to stand against hatred and discrimination. Manchester Community Safety Partnership has sixteen £750 grants available to voluntary, community, social enterprise and public sector groups. These aim to raise awareness of what hate crime is and to increase the reporting of hate crime incidents. Deadline for applications: 10 November, 12pm.

Manchester City Council Parks improvements funding 2021
 
Manchester City Council are making £12.5m available to support a range of capital investment opportunities in the city's parks and green spaces, to realise their vision for parks to be the heart, lungs and soul of the city. The City Council want to hear from local groups and organisations with ideas to use this funding: to build upon, add to, or improve park assets. Applications can be submitted by local community and voluntary groups, Friends of groups, current parks operators, charities and companies.

GM Mental Wellbeing Grants
 
GMCVO are delivering a grants programme to support people from communities of identity or experience, based in Greater Manchester that may struggle to achieve higher levels of mental wellbeing. The communities the programme wants to reach in year 2: Carers; People from BAME communities; People living with long term physical or mental health conditions; People who identify as LGBTQ+; Disabled people; Military veterans; People who are unemployed; Socially isolated older people. Micro grants £100 - £750 closes 29 October, 4pm. Small grants £750 - £3,000 closes 17 November, 5pm.

Greater Manchester Peer Support Innovation Grant
 
Does your organisation or group need support to grow your peer support activities? The Greater Manchester Peer Support Innovation Grant is designed to support new or smaller peer support groups with innovative ways of introducing peer support to the community. Applicants can apply for a grant of up to £250 towards their project or event (from a total available funding pot of £2500). Applications for the second round of funding close on 25 October, 12pm

The Postcode Dream Fund is now open
 

The focus of this year's Dream Fund will be projects that are looking to deliver systemic change in the following funding categories: Environment/conservation; Social inequality; Pandemic recovery. The Dream Fund will offer a total award fund of £3,500,000 for charitable organisations to deliver projects within Great Britain from 2022-2025.Charities will be able to apply for up to £1,250,000 for an innovative, impactful and collaborative project. The Women’s Sector Resilience Fund Phase 2 is a £1.5m fund that has been set up to support local networks of organisations working with and for women to make change to systems that cause women’s poverty in their area. Anti-Racism workshops for VAWG sector
 
The Anti-Racism Working Group are running Anti-Racism Charter workshops over the next couple of months to further embed the anti-racist practice in the sector and to support the implementation of the Charter. The Anti-Racism Working Group are holding workshops, training and seminars for both the Black and minoritised women's sector/workers as well as the wider violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector. All workshops and seminars are online and free.

The Salam Project workshops
 
The Salam Project is a youth outreach and intervention Social Enterprise working predominantly in the London and Manchester area. The team is DBS checked, and are trained in safeguarding, youth work and mentoring. The Salam Project have been working with young people in various capacities for over 15 years facilitating workshops, mentoring, counselling, tutoring (online/in-person) and outreach work. The Salam Project can deliver their programmes in person (social distancing observed) or online via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet or Skype.

Sporting Equals – Breaking Boundaries Project – Manchester
 
Does your organisation work with those who are aged 16 and over, identify and women and identify as black? Sporting Equals is undertaking a research project funded by Sport England that looks at experiences of participation in sport, exercise, and fitness activities in women 16 years and older in England who identify as Black. Sporting Equals are seeking 2-3 organisations who are able to host online or offline focus groups of 5-6 individuals per focus group (between now and Dec 2021). Hosting organisations will be renumerated £150 per focus group to cover costs of venue/ hosting and/or participant incentives.

Developing leadership and employability programme
 
This Sporting Equals programme will empower young people (aged 18-25) from ethnically diverse communities to increase their leadership and employability prospects in the sport sector. You will need to commit to four structured online sessions taking place in 2021/22. The project will allow you to build your skills and confidence to know more about the corporate and the sports sector. Personalised career planning and networking opportunities will also be provided.

Charity Fraud Awareness Week (18-22 October 2021) is an award-winning campaign run by a partnership of charities, regulators, law enforcers, representative and umbrella bodies, and other not-for-profit stakeholders from across the world. The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of fraud and cybercrime affecting the sector and to create a safe space for charities and their supporters to talk about fraud and share good practice. There are a number of webinars taking place this week and free resources for you to download and use.

By becoming a member of Macc you will gain access to our free funding portal of funding opportunities.

 

Please note: To be eligible to access our funding portal you must be a voluntary, community, social enterprise sector (VCSE) organisations working in the City of Manchester with at least 50% of your beneficiaries in the City of Manchester. VCSE organisations working outside of the City of Manchester, consultants, sole traders, statutory bodies, private businesses and infrastructure organisations who become members of Macc aren’t eligible to access our funding portal. The aim of the Greater Manchester Older People's Network is to inform and influence Greater Manchester strategies that affect older people. Membership is open to all older people living in Greater Manchester.

 

Volunteer Centre Manchester provides information, support and training to Manchester residents who want to volunteer and to organisations who work with or involve volunteers.

   Group Development

The Capacity Building Team provides group development support to build the capacity and sustainability of Manchester's voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. This is available through bespoke, one-to-one support and our training and we co-ordinate a training calendar of other relevant training opportunities from across the city.
