Work with us! We’re recruiting for an Organisational Development Worker

Are you passionate about charities and other voluntary organisations? Do you have the skills and experience to support Manchester’s voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups, building their capacity and sustainability? Are you able to build trusting and collaborative relationships, giving feedback clearly and tactfully? Are you familiar with and experienced in governance structures and board development? If you are a champion of strong community organisations making a positive difference to life in Manchester, then this could be the perfect role for you!

We are looking for an Organisational Development Worker to support a range of local VCSE groups. Providing one-to-one and grouped support, this is a varied role supporting local organisations to achieve their charitable and social aims: helping set up new groups, helping existing charities and groups create business and project plans, advising on funding applications, policies and procedures, and generating income.

Working for a high-profile and well respected charity which supports Manchester’s thriving VCSE sector, a great candidate will have previous experience and knowledge of voluntary sector governance, registering legal structures and of capacity building, preferably within the VSCE sector or smaller enterprises.

Salary: £27,041 - £28,672 per annum

VCSE organisations – Alternative venue discussion group

The next meeting is on 15 February at 2pm on Zoom

Macc are hosting the next discussion space for VCSE organisations to meet and discuss what organisations currently need from a venue as this may have changed due to the impact of Covid-19. This group aims to provide a space for VCSE organisations to discuss their current venue needs, what challenges there may be and what offers from other organisations are available.

This event will include the following discussion points:

  • Future thinking about premises – particularly with the increased interest in remote working
  • Interest in sharing spaces generally – and specifically for things like counselling services where smaller confidential spaces are needed
  • Interest in a city centre hub space
  • Offers available from VCSE organisations willing to safely share their current venue space
  • Sharing examples of solutions VCSE organisations have developed in response to venue challenges, which other organisations may benefit from

This group is open to anyone from a VCSE organisation or group and you would welcome to pop in and join the discussion for as long as you can. If you or a colleague would like to attend, please contact [email protected] for further details.
