Our annual Spirit of Manchester awards is a celebration of the work of thousands of voluntary organisations, community groups, charities and social enterprises in Manchester. We believe it's important to recognise, support and encourage volunteers and local voluntary action. This year is a special Spirit of Manchester Awards it is our 10th Anniversary. Our open non-competitive thank you category – People of Mcr is still open for nominations until 1 September

In response to the crisis in Ukraine, 10GM and partners are working together to put in place welcome and support for people arriving in Greater Manchester, working alongside local authorities and those who are offering to accommodate people arriving from Ukraine. To help this work we are launching the Greater Manchester Community Response Fund: Ukraine Crisis. This fundraising campaign will raise money to create a hardship fund for people arriving from Ukraine and to provide small grants to local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations that are playing an active, practical role in providing support.

The Auto Trader Community Fund aims to encourage and support grassroots community organisations. This means small, community-based and locally controlled groups that manage themselves, encourage people to get involved as volunteers and who just need a bit of financial help to be able to work with their community in the way they’d like. The Fund is offering awards of up to £1,000. Applicants must be based in one of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester and have an annual income of less than £50,000. Deadline: 22 July, 12pm

There’s funding available for non-profits in Manchester’s region (within 30 miles of WA168GS). Sir Robert McAlpine has launched a £25,000 fund to support community projects with a focus on education and employment projects as well as projects that benefit everyone in the community and make a visible improvement to local neighbourhoods. Grants of up to £3,000 are available for non-profits of all shapes and sizes. Applications are open until 31 July

7Stars Foundation is offering grants of up to £2,500 for registered charities across the United Kingdom to support young people aged 16 and under who are young carers or are challenged by abuse and addiction, homelessness, and lack of access to safe spaces. Funding will support projects in geographic areas of deprivation and socioeconomic disadvantage and help young people to achieve the best start in life. Deadline: 31 July

Not-for-profit organisations working to benefit children and young people under 18 years of age can apply for funding for a range of activities that address the following: Provision of essential items e.g. food, hygiene products; Encourage physical activity; Improve mental health; Celebrations within communities e.g. summer holiday events; Groups can apply for grants of between £500 - £1,500. Deadline: 19 August

Funding is available for charities and community groups across the UK who want to take ownership of, and save, local assets such as pubs, sports clubs, music venues, historic buildings, pubs, theatres and parks. Groups can bid for up to £250,000 match funding or in exceptional cases up to £1 million for larger sporting assets at risk of loss. Deadline: 19 August

The Artemis Charitable Foundation is offering grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 for registered charities across the United Kingdom to support projects and activities in the following key areas: Health; Education; Poverty; Environment. Priority will be given to small-and-medium-sized charities with an annual income of less than £2 million, as well as innovative projects that can be scaled up or replicated. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Barchester Healthcare Foundation is offering grants of between £5,000 for small community groups and local charities for projects that help reduce isolation and loneliness, promote group activities and generally improve mobility and quality of life for older people and adults with physical, learning, or mental disabilities. Applications can be submitted at any time

Following the huge success of a previous bereaved by suicide course Health Education England are delighted to be able to provide more funded places for 2022-2023. Coming from a person-centred perspective, this training takes participants on a journey through what it may be like to be bereaved by suicide. The training is designed to meet the Support After Suicide Partnership Core Standards. Application deadline: 19 July

Neighbourly is a community investment and engagement platform that connects 20,000 local charities and good causes across the UK and Ireland with local businesses that want to give back to their community. Through their three giving streams: food and product surplus, volunteer help or financial grants, the platform is free to use for charities, schools and good causes. Their focus is on helping small, local charities and causes receive tailored and targeted support to help build strong communities.
