Hate crime has no place in Manchester. Everyone has the right to feel safe and we all have a responsibility to stand against hatred and discrimination. Manchester Community Safety Partnership has twenty £500 grants available to voluntary, community, faith, social enterprise and public sector groups. Between August and October 2024 funded projects will aim to raise awareness of what hate crime is and to increase the reporting of hate crime incidents. Deadline for grant applications: 27 June, 12pm.

Macc's Alternative Venue Discussion Group
20 June, 12pm - 1pm, Online

We are hosting the next discussion space for VCSE organisations (statutory and private sector colleagues are very welcome) to meet and discuss what VCSE groups and organisations need from a venue, either permanent, temporary or ad hoc as well as those groups and organisations who would like to attend to promote any venue hire they currently have available. We also welcome anyone who wants to join the meeting to promote new projects or programmes of work and meet other VCSE groups and organisations. Inclusive Capacity Building: Bridging Gaps for Marginalised Communities in VCSE's

This impact research report examines capacity building within the VCSE sector, using Macc as a case study. It analyses the barrier marginalised communities may face in accessing Macc's capacity building programmes/efforts and aims to propose solutions to ensure that they are tailored to meet the diverse needs of all communities.

Women and Girls Match Fund

Through their Women and Girls Match Fund, BigGive are committed to working with exceptional charities, dedicated to serving the women and girls in communities, fostering a future where every individual can thrive without limitations. The Women and Girls Match Fund utilises a 1:1 Model of match funding. Women and Girls charities apply to Big Give and have their application assessed. Successful charities are awarded a sum of match funding which is ring-fenced for their organisation. This match funding is unlocked by public donations given through Big Give’s online fundraising platform during the campaign. Deadline: 22 June.

Big Give's Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match funded campaign. For seven days, supporters of participating charities can double their donations and, in doing so, make an extraordinary difference to the world’s biggest challenges. Applications for Christmas Challenge 2024 open now and close on 5 July, 5pm.

Pilgrim Trust Young Women in Mind programme

The Pilgrim Trust’s five-year, £5 million Young Women in Mind programme is open to applications from UK registered charities with an annual income of between £100,000 and £1 million, have been operating for at least three years and whose work or project is located in the North East England, North West England, Yorkshire and The Humber or Northern Ireland. Grants of between £60,000 and £100,000 spread across three years are available. The funding is for mental health services that support young women with existing and increasingly entrenched mental health problems. Deadline for stage one applications: 8 July.

Arnold Clark Community Fund

Arnold Clark is currently accepting applications for its annual grant available to registered charities and other non-profits across England, Scotland and Wales. The maximum grant is £2,500 and applications are reviewed when they are received. Groups can apply for: Cost of Living Support; Our Communities Support; Gear Up for Sport. Arnold Clark will contact successful applicants on a weekly basis. Applications are expected to be accepted until the end of December 2024.

National Lottery Community Fund: The UK Fund

Through the UK Fund the National Lottery Community Fund is looking to fund organisations that want to do more to help communities come together and help make a better-connected society. Your project must either work across the UK, or be able to inform, influence or scale across the UK. Grants of between £500,000 to £5m are available. Applications can be submitted at any time.

VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme

The VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme will help voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs) across England to deliver more efficient services for people and communities by saving money on their energy bills. The VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme is offering Independent Energy Assessments to help identify energy-saving opportunities in your building. The programme also offers Capital Grants to implement measures recommended in your assessment. Deadlines: Independent Energy Assessment: 20 June / Capital Grant: 14 August.

The Greater Manchester Step Change Consortium together with Disrupt Foundation are excited to share with you a new online service directory and referral platform for asylum, refugee and migrant support services in Greater Manchester. The tool has been co-developed with frontline practitioners, leaders of support organisations and people who have used asylum support services in Greater Manchester.

Leadership Support Programme

Instep are helping organisations across the Greater Manchester city-region to develop their leadership capacity and support their future growth aspirations. This has been made possible thanks to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority securing funding to deliver UKSPF projects, which forms part of the Government’s wider Levelling Up Agenda. The Leadership Support Programme enables employed individuals to create a bespoke pathway to strengthen their effective leadership skills. Through the programme, individuals will learn about a range of tools and techniques that they can take back to the workplace to strengthen existing processes and drive efficiencies.

Please note: To be eligible to access our funding portal you must be a voluntary, community, social enterprise sector (VCSE) organisations working in the City of Manchester with at least 50% of your beneficiaries in the City of Manchester. VCSE organisations working outside of the City of Manchester, consultants, sole traders, statutory bodies, private businesses and infrastructure organisations who become members of Macc aren’t eligible to access our funding portal.

Active communities

The aim of the Greater Manchester Older People's Network is to inform and influence Greater Manchester strategies that affect older people. Membership is open to all older people living in Greater Manchester.

Volunteer Centre Manchester provides information, support and training to Manchester residents who want to volunteer and to organisations who work with or involve volunteers.

Group development

The Capacity Building Team provides group development support to build the capacity and sustainability of Manchester's voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations. This is available through bespoke, one-to-one support and our training and we co-ordinate a training calendar of other relevant training opportunities from across the city.

Policy and influence

The Policy and Influence Team promotes positive change in Manchester through bringing the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector together, enabling opportunities for constructive dialogue with the statutory and private sectors, encouraging creative solutions and informing the sector about policy and strategic developments.
