We have an opportunity to appoint an Trainee Organisation Development to join our small, established and successful Capacity Building Team which supports charities, community groups, voluntary organisations and social enterprises to develop and flourish. This is a chance to bring your life experiences and transferrable skills to learn and develop how to work with community organisations. We particularly want to reach out to people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, people who identify as LGBT and disabled people to bring your insights and experiences to enhance our team and approach.
We will support the appointed trainee to learn how to help groups develop good governance, understand their roles and responsibilities, set clear organisational visions and plan for funding. The post works alongside two experienced Organisation Development Workers as well as a range of other staff with unique knowledge of community activity across the city. Macc will offer a mixture of shadowing, mentoring and training to help the right candidate develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
Working for a high-profile and well respected collaborator and advocate of Manchester’s thriving Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector, a ‘people person’, able to listen well and communicate clearly, be reliable, adaptable and keen to learn more about the work of the sector. Experience of voluntary and community groups would be helpful but is not essential.
Based in the heart of city centre Manchester, this role is fixed term for 12 months from start date (continuation dependent on business need and funding). We are currently operating on a working from home basis until further notice but are able to provide a supportive online induction process. Subject to Government and local restrictions, we hope to offer the new starter a face-to-face meeting as part of this induction.
