Out There is a registered charity providing emotional and practical support and an information service for the families of prisoners in Greater Manchester. In order to support and reach as many people as possible, we rely on and value our volunteers.
One of the main problems faced by many of our clients is being able to visit their loved ones in prison. Disabilities, childcare, finances or no access to transport can all contribute to making those visits very difficult. At Out There, we try and support our clients to be able to visit their loved ones where we can. As a voluntary driver, you will be making a positive and vital contribution to Out There's aims and client wellbeing.
What will I be doing as a Volunteer Driver?
What skills and experience do I need?
How much time commitment will this be?
This can vary and can depend but on average, it would be one day per month. This will include weekends.
Please note: we are currently not holding events due to coronavirus restrictions, but we are currently undergoing the recruitment and induction process for volunteers so that when we can run again, you will be ready to go!
