Volunteer Translators & Interpreters

Europia is a registered charity and community development organisation. We are committed to supporting and empowering European nationals who have come to live and work in Greater Manchester. Through our practical community and well-being projects, training sessions, advice clinics and legal surgeries, we aim to make people feel at home, connect them with their local communities, and give them the knowledge and skills they need to make their hopes and dreams a reality.

We are looking for volunteers who can support with language translations and interpreting. 

We are looking for volunteers who can:

• Translate documents, leaflets and social media posts
• Assist clients in meetings via phone call, Zoom and other online platforms
• Be able to use technology such as Google drive and social media platforms
• Be willing to ask for help and support needed to undertake the task/role
• Agree to Europia's Confidentiality policy when dealing with personal information

Volunteers are expected to be able to speak one (or more) of the following languages:

• Polish
• Hungarian
• Latvian

Europia will provide volunteers with:

• Full training
• A named contact to support you 
• Access to information and resources needed to complete tasks
• Clear safeguarding guidance
