Cracking Good Food launched in 2010, with the aim of encouraging and supporting more people to cook affordable, seasonal and nutritious homemade food from scratch. Driven by our belief that everyone deserves good food, our mission is simple: to work collaboratively with others to eradicate food poverty and increase food sustainability in Greater Manchester. We enthuse, encourage, and teach individuals and groups how to source and cook affordable, healthy, and tasty food from scratch, whilst minimising both food waste and our environmental impact.
Cracking Good Food is supported by over 100 volunteers, without whom we would not be able to deliver our Covid Emergency Food Response or our extensive programme of cookery classes, courses, workshops and demos in better times. We are looking for volunteers to help support our services. We teach people how to cook in the Community, at our weekend Cookery Schools and various cooking demos; within these sessions, we are always looking for a spare pair of hands. There are also opportunities to volunteer at our forages.
