Who we are:

HideOut Youth Zone is an award-winning youth charity based in Manchester. Our state-of-the-art building provides young people with somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to. We are set up to give young people from a diverse range of backgrounds an opportunity to discover their passions and purpose. 

 

Our incredible facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music and media suites. We provide a purpose-built space packed with engaging activities, the opportunity to make friends, develop new skills, unlock their potential and have fun.

 

What are we looking for?

Our Volunteer Performing Arts Youth Workers help us deliver a range of arts, from theatre to spoken word. If you have experience in Latin dance, ballroom or maybe even puppetry; whatever your performing arts flair we’d love to have you on the volunteer team!

We’re looking for someone who:
•    Has experience in performing arts, those specifically with a dancing/acting background able to lead a group of young people
•    Enjoys meeting and engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds 
•    Is organised and efficient 
•    Shares the same values of HideOut 
•    Is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

 

 

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

  • Helping deliver any form of performing arts that you excel and enjoy
  • Motivating young people to participate in individual and group dance/acting opportunities
  • Building positive relationships with young people across the youth zone 
  • Working collaboratively with the Arts Coordinator and other members of staff to support the delivery of sessions (and if you're confident enough, to lead!)
  • Supporting young people with additional needs
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people
  • Promoting an inclusive culture where all young people are listened to, valued and cared for.
