Who we are:
Visit from the stork is a charity based in Salford aiming to secure a better present for parents and a brighter future for children.
What are we looking for:
Volunteers can choose to be more involved and actively search for relevant events taking place near their area (for example if you know of good car boot sales, community summer events, or Christmas fairs, you can let us know you would like to take a stall) OR we will put a text out whenever we need volunteers to join our team for an event we have chosen to attend / is in our 2025 calendar, and volunteers can simply respond to say they are available. Either way, we will provide anything they need to make a good stall - banners, donation boxes, and items for Tombola's, raffles or lucky dip to help us raise money and support more families. If attending a large event with our team, we may ask if you can help transport items, so your own vehicle is advantageous.
What would you be doing as a volunteer?
We would like to build a bank of Fundraising volunteers whose role will be to represent the charity at a variety of community events across Manchester and Salford such as spring/Christmas fairs, school fetes, car boot sales, community picnics etc. Volunteers will represent us by taking banners, donation boxes and items for Tombolas, raffles or lucky dips to the event to help us raise money and support more families. They may occasionally be asked if they want to take part in an event we are hosting.
As we go into our 11th year of business and our 2nd year of being a charity, we would like to start building up our community fundraising team, starting with Fundraising / event volunteers. We would like to build a bank of volunteers who are available at weekends, and occasionally evenings or weekdays, to represent the charity at a variety of community events in 2025 - think Spring/ summer fairs, school fetes, car boot sales, community days / picnics etc, Christmas markets etc. Most shifts will be 2-3 hours, but if attending an event with a small team then shifts may be longer, in which case we will buy food/refreshments for you.
It is likely most events will be at the weekend across the year. We will pay any out of pocket expenses you incur such as parking, mileage, public transport, pitch fees, food/refreshments on the day etc. We also host our own fundraising days at least twice a year (summer and Christmas) so may ask for ad-hoc help with these as well, where the role will be the same - to 'man' one of our stalls.
