Who we are:

Rainbow Haven is the only project of The East Manchester Community Association (TEMCA), a registered charity supporting refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants across Greater Manchester. Based in Gorton, we provide information, advice, wellbeing activities, and pathways into volunteering, training, and employment. Rainbow Haven is widely known as a place of welcome and support, working closely with refugee partner organisations, funders, and the wider community.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a new Trustee with knowledge or interest in finance and accounting to join the TEMCA Board and support our Treasurer and Finance Officer. You will contribute to oversight of our finances, strategy development, and policy review. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with lived experience of asylum or migration, or from ethnic minority, LGBTQ+, or disabled communities.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

• Attend and participate in eight Trustee Board meetings annually (in-person/Zoom).

• Join internal finance review meetings alongside the Treasurer and staff.

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and oversight processes.

• Advise on financial policies and procedures.

• Actively contribute to strategic direction and governance of TEMCA and Rainbow Haven.

• Offer expertise, advice, and leadership between meetings when needed.
