Who we are:
LGBT Foundation is a national charity based in Manchester, delivering advice, support, and information services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (LGBT) communities. We work to secure a safe, healthy, and equal future for all LGBT people. Our community centre is a hub for staff, volunteers, service users, and groups across Greater Manchester.

What are we looking for?
We are seeking friendly, confident volunteers to be the welcoming face of our centre. You should enjoy meeting new people, be comfortable in busy environments, and have good communication skills. Passion for creating safe, inclusive spaces for LGBT communities and allies is essential. We welcome applications from all backgrounds, particularly people of colour, disabled, and/or trans* volunteers who are underrepresented in our team.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

• Greeting staff, service users, contractors, and community groups

• Answering the door and directing visitors to the right place

• Recording and passing on messages

• Supporting community groups and staff using the centre

• Helping to close the centre, securing equipment and tidying up

• Signposting people to services and contacting safeguarding staff when needed

• Maintaining a welcoming, tidy environment for staff, volunteers, and service users

Times for the opportunity:

• Weekday mornings, afternoons, or evenings

• Occasional Saturday afternoons

• Rota system – choose times that suit you

• Shadowing required for two shifts within 6 weeks before being confirmed in role
