Who we are:
Age UK Manchester is an independent local charity, committed to improving the lives of older people across the city. We provide a range of services, activities, and support aimed at promoting wellbeing, independence, and inclusion. Our charity shops generate vital income to help fund our work, from social activities and advice services to residential care.

What are we looking for?
We’re seeking friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our shop team in Northenden. No retail experience is necessary — just a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an interest in supporting older people in the local community. Whether you can give a few hours a week or more, your time will make a real difference.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?
As a shop volunteer, you will help with the smooth day-to-day running of the store, supporting the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager. Tasks may include:

Serving and engaging with customers.

Processing donations and preparing items for sale.

Merchandising and creating attractive displays.

Assisting in maintaining a welcoming and organised shop environment.

Supporting promotional activities to raise funds for Age UK Manchester’s services.
