The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's coronation. It is the MBE for volunteer groups.
Monday 22 July 2019 marks 100 years (to the day) of the formation of Manchester and Salford Council of Social Service. Macc, Salford CVS and Gaddum have worked together to mark the occasion with a celebratory event at the People’s History Museum. We felt it is important to mark 100 years of social action across the twin cities of Salford and Manchester.
Oldham Coliseum Theatre are recruiting new trustees to join them at this exciting time.
The role of trustee is a voluntary position and requires dedication to the theatre’s development, ensuring that the Company fulfils its charitable purpose for the public benefit. All trustees are ambassadors for Oldham Coliseum Theatre’s work and community.
The Charity Service is both a registered charity and a trust corporation which provides a bespoke, economical and assured charitable trust management service both to organisations and individuals, thus enabling them to make the most of their gift and to be confident that all governance and administration arrangements are in hand and that the trust is compliant with current accounting and Charity Commission requirements. For four of these trusts The Charity Service also promote and administer a grant programme.
Following on from the Manchester BME and GM BME joint networks event, the Manchester BME are holding their AGM and Hidden Gems Awards – awarding BME groups, their staff and volunteers on 19 July, 14:30 - 17:00 at the St Thomas Centre, Ardwick Green North, Ardwick, M12 6FZ.
