HideOut Youth Zone is looking for Volunteer Music Youth Workers to deliver sessions in which young people can get creative with instruments, their voices, or even learn about the production of music and DJing.

Who we are:

HideOut Youth Zone is an award-winning youth charity based in Manchester. Our state-of-the-art building provides young people with somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to. We are set up to give young people from a diverse range of backgrounds an opportunity to discover their passions and purpose.

Our incredible facilities include a 3G pitch, climbing wall, gym, sports hall and recreation area, and dance, arts, music and media suites. We provide a purpose-built space packed with engaging activities, the opportunity to make friends, develop new skills, unlock their potential and have fun.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has an interest or experience in music, whether it be instrumental or production
  • Enjoys meeting and engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Is organised and efficient
  • Shares HideOut’s values
  • Is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

  • Helping to deliver sessions where our young people can experiment with instruments, singing, the production of music and DJing
  • Depending on your availability, supporting our very own Junior Band!
  • Building positive relationships with young people across the youth zone
  • Working collaboratively with the Music & Media Coordinator and other members of staff to support the delivery of sessions (and if you're confident enough, to lead!)
  • Supporting young people with additional needs
  • Acting as a positive role model for young people
  • Promoting an inclusive culture where all young people are listened to, valued and cared for

What are the benefits?

You will develop existing skills whilst gaining new ones, making a significant contribution to the lives of young people. You will become part of our team and help our young people to have a great time. While being a positive role model to many of our young people, you will also enhance your own CV.
