Community Associations Funding Programme July 2013 - March 2016 Support for applicants

The community associations Manchester City Council support have historically been established community centres or associations providing a range of services and activities, or enabling others to provide services and activities, for local people. Just over £430,000 is spent on grant funding to support the valuable work these groups carry out in the community and these associations have played a vital role in supporting local residents in response to local needs.

Applicants to the fund must be a community centre or association, working in the boundaries of the city of Manchester and providing a range of services and activities, or enabling others to provide services and activities, for local people.

Awards will be made for up to three years at a time

Deadline for applications: Friday 5 April 2013, midnight

Support for applicants
Manchester Community Central have developed some online resources and we are delivering Preparing a good application workshops to help voluntary and community organisations within the City of Manchester to submit strong applications.

What you need to do
Check the eligibility criteria. Are you in a position to apply? Will you be able to meet all of the terms and conditions if you are successful? Have you got adequate time and resources to put an application in by the deadline?

Manchester Community Central workshops:

This workshop will look at eligibility for the Fund and what makes a successful funding application

There are 2 sessions (subject to demand)
– Session 1: Tuesday 5 March 2013, 2pm-4pm at Macc Ground Floor meeting room, click here to book a place

Please note that groups only need to attend one workshop and places are limited to one place per organisation.

Our workshops are only open to Manchester based voluntary and community sector groups.

Please remember that Manchester Community Central cannot write bids or act as guarantor for applications.

Please note that it is not a requirement to attend one of our workshops to submit an application to this fund.

Planning ahead:
We will run further workshops after the deadline looking at:
1. If you’re not successful, what’s the Plan B?
2. Decommissioning services in a managed way

We will support groups to develop and strengthen their organisational structure and governance.

We will monitor the demand for support and endeavour to offer additional support or workshops where possible.
