The Hate Crime Awareness Summer-Autumn 2022 Grants Programme is offering twenty awards of £500 to help tackle hatred and discrimination. Only projects that will be delivered in the city of Manchester sometime between late-July and November 2022 can be funded.
Through Manchester City Council, Manchester Community Safety Partnership makes funding available annually to support projects across the city that promote awareness of hate crime and how to report it. Macc administers this grants programme on behalf of the Council.
Aims of the Hate Crime Awareness Grants Programme
The three main aims of these grants are to:
- Raise awareness of what hate crime is
- Increase reporting of hate crimes
- Celebrate diversity in our communities
Information on all aspects of the programme is in the prospectus, including:
- Who can apply for this funding
- What is a hate crime
- Third-Party Reporting Centres
- How to get free support to complete your application (for groups new to the programme or who were previously unsuccessful)
- What can and cannot be funded and how to complete the application
- How funding decisions will be made
- Due diligence checks on successful applicants
- End of project monitoring
The deadline for applications is midday on Thursday 30 June 2022. Applications should be emailed to: [email protected]
Macc will notify all applicants as to whether their application is successful by Monday 18 July. If successful, grants will be paid in one tranche of money, subject to completion of standard due diligence checks (see ‘Due diligence’ section in the prospectus).
