Partnership offers

Macc is looking for offers of partnerships from Statutory and Private organisations or to work alongside VCS organisations, social enterprises and housing associations who are applying for Grants. We will also publicise offers of partnership from charities, voluntary and community sector groups and social enterprises who want to work in partnership with similar groups and organisations for the purpose of this funding programme.

Offers of Partnership

Action on Hearing Loss (new name for RNID)
Action on Hearing Loss are interested in working across some or all areas of Manchester with existing / potential projects. They would like to work in partnership to ensure access to all services / activities/ groups / volunteering for those groups with any degree of hearing loss. Communication is key. They can offer support with those with hearing aids and working and using telephones. Email: [email protected]  

Community Service Volunteers (CSV)

Debdale Eco Centre, Gorton - Training and activities in horticulture and food growing
Activities related to sustainability and craft activities, seed sowing, healthy eating and cookery. Debdale Eco Centre would like to partner with housing associations and other organisations so they can bring sessions to service users / clients / tenants. Ethnic Health Forum
The Ethnic Health Forum are open to discussions as they have access to Pakistani and Middle eastern / Somali elders who access their Healthy eating and sporting activity sessions. FC United of Manchester
FC United can recruit and train volunteers to work with older people and can also design an accredited induction programme to suit your needs. Contact Robin Pye on 0779 412 2602.

Footprints solutions
Footprint Solutions is a data management technology company and they have developed to support caring organisation offer better care to the elderly, while providing a portal for love ones to monitor their parents progress. Groundwork (Manchester Wide)
Interested in partnering on community growing/ gardening projects and activities? There is evidence of huge benefits in building community relationships and reducing Isolation. Groundwork can also potentially link projects into their work with young people through “helping Hands” type projects or intergenerational learning. Groundwork have previously run multi-cultural growing projects. Groundwork service include: Community Engagement and development - linking people and groups and building local capacity, gardening training, landscape design, youth and intergenerational work. Growing in the city- Beswick and Openshaw Community Garden
Growing in the City offer grow your own food activities, volunteering, meeting people- even if you don’t have a garden dig you can often share space, and cooking and skills training. This project is for all ages and groups. Contact 0741 454 5980 or email: [email protected]

Healthy Me Healthy Communities

Hulme Community Garden centre
Hulme Community Gardem Centre offer volunteering opportunities, training around growing your own food and a group meeting space. They would love older people to get involved with the centre. Contact Rachel on 0161 227 8198

Macmillan Cancer Information and Support
Macmillan Cancer Information and Support know that older people with cancer, in particular, as well as younger people, can feel very isolated, in fact Macmillan have carried out a great deal of work around isolation and cancer. Macmillan Cancer Information and Support, Wythenshawe Hospital would like to offer partnership support to applicants of this funding programme.
They would like to offer support via their communication systems by letting older people know about the ‘Macmillan Connections’-this initiative is like a big buddy system allowing people to share hobbies, interests and leisure activities together, and under the umbrella of Macmillan Connections they have their own gentle walking group and Macmillan allotment in Wythenshawe.
Macmillan Connections is for any one affected by cancer, not just the person themselves but family and bereaved. If you would like further information contact Debbie Smith at the centre on 0161 291 4876.

Manchester Deaf Centre
Manchester Deaf Centre wish to work in partnership with any organisation / groups to involve older deaf and hard of hearing people in their activities / services. They offer awareness training Communication support and resources. Contact Richard Jones on 0161 273 3415 or email: [email protected]

MHA - Live at Home Scheme

Silver Training
Silver Training are the UK’s largest centrally controlled network of computer tutors for the over 50s, in 30 areas of the country. They do home visits one to one, as well as group courses for charities, companies and councils. They have recently started working with a lot of housing associations providing a bespoke course for tenants to help them claim for benefits on the new Universal Credit portal, find jobs and get online, which is proving very popular.
Silver Training are big believers that access to the internet and being trained up to go online are huge ways of reducing social isolation amongst older people, and we are the UK’s specialist at doing this for the over 50s. Silver Training would like to get involved and would like to be taken into consideration for the funding. Great Places Housing Group
As a main Social Housing Provider, Great Places Housing Group will be pleased to consider proposals for possible partnership working in Manchester. Herbie
Herbie is a food access project working across North and East Manchester providing a fresh food shop, healthy eating information, recipes, nearly ready meals, cooking sessions and a regular weekly 30 minute drop in opportunity. Most of our customers are elderly or isolated young mums living in sheltered accommodation, social housing or just on their own in areas poorly served by food and health services or undergoing redevelopment. We are looking for Health and Wellbeing organisations, Housing Associations or developers who are interested in expanding and deepening this service and ensuring the vulnerable and isolated in the communities of North and East Manchester are well served. Bridge 5 Mill Centre for Sustainable Living
A unique community centre, conference facility, training space and office space for social and environmental groups, based in Ancoats East Manchester. Looking for partners from Social Housing and IT training providers to set up a series of events and drop in sessions for local residents. These could range from skill sharing in gardening, knitting and DIY to on-line IT confidence and accessing welfare benefits. MERCi
Offer a community engagement and participation service tailored to your requirements. We have experience in running walking groups, self-help complimentary health sessions, cooking, gardening, art and countryside crafts. We have worked with elders, BME communities, youth and young people and those with complex needs, in focussed sessions and in intergenerational and intercommunity programmes.
