Charity Digital: How to lower your digital carbon footprint webinar

Date & Time of Training:
15 August, 2024 - 13:00 to 14:00
Venue:
Online

More than four in five charities say they are concerned about the impacts of climate change, making it more critical that they take steps to address it, including lowering their carbon footprint. While recycling and taking public transport are familiar tactics for reducing emissions, the carbon footprint of digital technology, however, is often underestimated, despite being comparable to that of the aviation industry.

But digital technology is essential to the charity sector, helping them increase productivity, reach more people via digital channels, and, as a result, raise more funds and deliver more services. It is not a case of avoiding using digital technology, rather making sure we use it efficiently in order to reduce its impact on the environment.

In this webinar, we are joined by speakers from digital environmental coalition DIMPACT, the Carbon Literacy Trust, WWF, and the National Trust to discuss how charities can tackle digital’s carbon footprint and consider the sustainability of the technology they use.

Attendees can expect to learn:

  • How to measure their digital carbon footprint
  • How to put digital sustainability at the top of the agenda
  • What actions charities can take now to reduce their digital carbon footprint
