Community Asset Services Cooperative: Fundraising for beginners

Date & Time of Training:
22 May, 2024 - 10:00 to 13:00
Venue:
Methodist Central Hall, Oldham Street, Manchester, M1 1JQ

Fundraising isn't a mystery. And it isn't beyond you. It's about knowing what information a funder needs and how you can get across to a funder who your organisation is, what project you want funding for and why you need the funding. You want to be able to change things for the better, so does the funder.

This short course will cover:

  • Choosing appropriate funders
  • Demystifying the process
  • Clarifying your aims
  • Clarifying your outputs and outcomes and knowing the difference between the two
  • How to write a budget
  • How to tell a funder about you and your project effectively
  • What to expect WHEN you're successful
  • How to develop a fundraising a strategy

After the course Ed will provide an hour's one-to-one support (by appointment at a time that's convenient for you) to discuss an application that you wish to develop.

The session will be delivered by Ed Connole, who has over twenty years’ experience running voluntary sector organisations in London and the Northwest.

Ed is currently director of ALL FM, one of the largest community radio stations in the UK. In this role and in the role of supporting numerous community organisations across the Northwest, Ed has successfully accessed funding for a diverse range of projects from funders such as theLottery (Arts Council, Community Fund, Heritage Fund, Awards for All, Youth Music), the Tudor Trust, Children in Need, Garfield Weston Foundation.
