Every year 2,600 vulnerable individuals and families receive a service in the North West of England from their community, care or special education services delivered by their committed workforce of 900+ staff and volunteers. 
One of our first Community Reporter projects in 2014 was to work with residents in Brunswick capturing where they live and the new developments to the area.
This was commissioned by S4B Housing Association - a collaboration of Symphony and Contour Housing Associations working in Brunswick.
Every year all the shortlisted nominees for our Spirit of Manchester Awards have a short film made of their project. These are then voted on at the awards evening by the audience to determine the winner in each category.

The Manchester Safeguarding Boards (MSB) comprises the Manchester Safeguarding Adults Board (MSAB) and the Manchester Safeguarding Children Boards (MSCB). The Boards share an Independent Chair, Julia Stephens-Row; and are supported by the MSB Business Unit. 
Caring people from across Greater Manchester are sleeping on the streets in Hulme showing their solidarity with homeless children. 
Manchester-based mental health charity, Self Help are hoping to make history as they attempt to beat the world record for the most people practicing mindfulness together. 
The event will take place on Saturday 13 May, 11am, at Whitworth Art Gallery, to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week and raise awareness of the stress-reducing practice.
The Institute of Community Reporters (ICR) is currently working in communities around Greater Manchester to gather people’s experiences and views on public services. They are training up groups of people as Community Reporters to use pocket devices and technology to record these experiences as video or audio stories, and share them with others online. 
Black African and Caribbean elders develop dementia earlier than their White counterparts, but often delay help-seeking until crisis point. Delaying help-seeking has negative effects on future outcomes for patients and carers as it reduces access to treatment, care and support, independent living, and quality of life.
