Age Friendly Manchester is developing a Generations Together Manifesto. This is all about creating a set of key actions that Council and other organisations can use in their work bringing older and younger people together. Age Friendly Manchester have some early ideas of what could be in the manifesto. These have come from a two day Intergenerational symposium that they held last October at the Coop. We were commissioned by the three Manchester Clinical Commisioning Groups to run Community Reporter video training with members of groups working with people with mental health issues. This was part of a widerconsultation on Mental Health service provion in Manchester.

Good Finance is a new website to help charities and social enterprises navigate the often complex world of social investment, has just launched. Social investment is the use of repayable finance to achieve a social as well as a financial return. It was designed by charities and social enterprises and developed in collaboration with Access, Big Society Capital, Government and key sector partners. Good Finance

BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra Newsbeat: General Election opportunity

Radio 1 and 1Xtra Newsbeat is hosting a live discussion programme in Manchester on 6 June leading up to the general election. It’s an opportunity for young voters to explain how they’re feeling about the vote on 8 June.

The 90 minute programme will be broadcast on Radio 1, 1Xtra and Asian Network. It’ll also be televised on BBC One and BBC News Channel.
