Media Trusts Digital mentoring programme for charities

media trustAs part of the Media Trusts new Digital Skills Programme, supported by Google.org, they are offering 20 charities an incredible opportunity to be matched with an expert digital mentor for a 3-6 month period starting in January 2021.

How a digital mentor can help your charity
20 charities across the UK will be selected to take part in the mentoring programme which will run from January to July 2021.

Based on your charity’s specific challenge, you will be matched with an industry expert, who will volunteer between 2-6 hours per month for a 3-6-month period, to help you develop your charity’s digital communications and achieve your objectives.

They will work closely with you on one of the following:

  • Developing a digital communications strategy
  • Identifying, engaging and growing audiences online
  • Raising awareness about a specific cause or event
  • Using data and analytics to boost engagement and presence online
  • Creating, planning and managing your content

All sessions will be delivered remotely and your mentor will support by:

  • Reviewing your current digital communications
  • Setting realistic digital goals
  • Developing a plan of action
  • Building an impact plan to evaluate your digital communications

The opportunity is open to small and medium charities across the UK who work in one or both of these areas work and learning.

If your work:

  • Supports young people or adults into training, education or employment
  • Provides support for people and families at risk of or experiencing poverty caused by unemployment
  • Campaigns for and supports people on low wages and insecure work and contracts
  • Online Safety

If your organisation provides information or training on staying safe online to children, schools or parents. This work could include promoting the safe and responsible use of technology, as well as issues including online gambling, pornography, privacy, data and mental health.

Applications are prioritised from charities who work in areas of the UK that face high levels of unemployment.
