THIS PROGRAMME IS NOW CLOSED FOR APPLICATIONS

The next Hate Crime Awareness Week will take place between 7-13 February 2022. Sixteen grants of £750 are available to fund projects in the city of Manchester that take place either during that week and/or in the days surrounding it. All funded projects will need to have completed by no later than Friday 25 February.

Please read all information about the programme in the guidance document

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 10 November 2021. Please email your application to [email protected]. The independent selection panel’s decisions will be confirmed by week commencing Monday 29 November.

Hate crime is significantly under-reported. Local groups and organisations need to continue raising awareness, challenging hate crime in our communities and helping instil confidence in victims by highlighting how and where hate crime incidents can be reported.

Through Macc on behalf of Manchester City Council, Manchester Community Safety Partnership makes funding available annually during Hate Crime Awareness Week each February to support projects across the city. Voluntary, community, social enterprise and public sector organisations are eligible to apply for this funding.

Aims of the Hate Crime Awareness Grants Programme
Within the context of celebrating diversity in our communities, the main aims of these grants are to:

  • Raise awareness of what hate crime is
  • Increase the reporting of hate crimes

Funding available
Voluntary, community, social enterprise and public sector organisations can apply for a grant of exactly £750 only, we cannot accept bids for more or less than this amount. The funding pot totals £12,000, meaning sixteen grants are available in all.

We welcome applications from groups that are new to the programme as well as those who have applied previously. Where appropriate, we also encourage partnership working or joint applications for this funding.

If you have general questions about this funding, please contact Oliver at Macc via email: [email protected] or on 0161 834 9823.

If you would like free support on making an application there is information about this in the guidance document.
