2 x Community Development Fieldworkers at Winning Hearts and Minds

Do you know North Manchester? Do you want to help local residents to improve their communities, and improve their health and wellbeing?

Can you:

  • Actively engage with the local community?
  • Collaborate with local partners?
  • Be pro-active in developing resident partnerships?

Do you:

  • Strive for a more just and equal society?
  • Respect, value, support and promote difference and diversity?
  • Have the ability to enable community empowerment?
  • Promote the active participation of people within communities?
  • Create and encourage opportunities for collective learning?

The role will be working on the Winning Hearts and Minds programme for a multi-agency partnership. Winning Hearts and Minds is a trailblazing approach to improving heart and mental health and associated health inequalities in Manchester.

It is a citywide programme with some targeted work focused on North Manchester, where health outcomes are poorest.

The programme embodies the Our Manchester behaviours; a unique collaboration between Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board, Manchester City Council, Manchester Active, and Manchester Local Care Organisation, to enable services, people and communities to work in a different way in order to achieve some ambitious outcomes.

Most importantly, the Winning Hearts and Minds approach empowers people, communities and service providers in neighbourhoods to take ownership and make changes for themselves.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion and enthusiasm for supporting communities to make a difference. They will relish working in diverse communities and possess excellent communication skills. They will be willing to undertake training to help them grow their community development skills.
