It is important that the impact of these cuts on voluntary groups, service users, family members and carers is understood by as many people as possible.

The Lesbian & Gay Foundation
The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (LGF) is a vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and a rapidly developing range of new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* people. Read the case study here

Manchester Care and Repair
Manchester Care and Repair has been a mainstay of Manchester’s Voluntary and Community Sector since 1991. They started as one of many Home Improvement Agencies (HIA) set up around that time as a service to help local authorities facilitate repairs, renovations and home adaptations for older and vulnerable owner occupiers. Manchester Refugee Support Network
Manchester Refugee Support Network was established in 1995 and has been core funded by Manchester City Council for all that time. It is facing potential closure if Equality Grants are discontinued and a key Manchester voluntary organisation will be lost. Read the case study here

YASP
YASP provides services to 15-25 year olds in Manchester. Many of these young people live independently. However, amongst the younger portion of Manchester residents aged 15-18 it is more common for young people to be living a home with their families. Read the case study here
