Driver - Cyclist

You would be picking up baby essentials from the supermarket and droppping off to familes in need.

All expenses will be covered and you will need to have access to Whatsapp.

The families have been referred to us as they are in hardship and we are supporting them with free items such as nappies, wipes, toiletries, formula milk, calpol and ‘new mum’ items such as breast pads, maternity pads etc.  You’ll be part of a team of 20+ volunteers who have been delivering since March when covid first hit. A large % of our referrals are in the central Manchester (Gorton, Longsight, Clayton, Openshaw) and North Manchester (Harpurhey, Moston, Blackley) areas and we need to increase our capacity for these areas.

Our volunteers join a Whatsapp group, where we list the addresses of the clients we need delivering to each day. If there are any in your chosen area and you are available, you can claim the job by volunteering yourself to go and deliver the items to the client the same day or the next day. Volunteers are free to either a) pick up the items needed from our office in central Salford or b) buy their own stock which will be paid back on receipt or we can arrange for them to have their own expenses card in order to buy the items. This means if the volunteer is local to the client they will simply be able to attend the local shop to buy the items and deliver straight to them. Volunteers will need to have their own vehicle.

Once the volunteers have the stock, they complete a contact-free doorstep delivery for the client. Management (myself and project admin) are available to deal with any issues that may occur. The role will include greeting the client to hand over the items to them.
