Description of opportunity:

Stitched Up Community Benefit Society aims to inspire action on sustainable fashion in Manchester. We currently run a sustainable clothing hub in Stretford Mall – a space for crafters, makers and tinkerers, providing an alternative to the chain stores and empty shops of your average British high street.

We’re looking for passionate and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. You don’t have to be able to sew to volunteer with us, but it does help if you share our passion for sustainable fashion!

What You'll Do:
Volunteering sessions run weekly on Thursday and Saturday afternoons hosted in our Pop Up shop in Stretford Mall. We also have monthly sessions on Wednesdays and ad hoc opportunities to volunteer at events and workshops that we run.

Our volunteers work on a range of activities. We need help with all sorts of things, from preparing for and assisting at workshops, to admin, marketing and general running of our HQ and reclaimed haberdashery.

No specific qualifications are required for this opportunity but the following skills are desirable:

  • Interest in sustainability, particularly sustainable fashion
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others (customers and colleagues) by being sociable and approachable
  • Ability to be respectful of differences and choices
  • Reliable, honest and punctual
  • Ability to work independently but with guidance and support

There are currently no volunteer opportunities.
