Description of opportunity:

Families Against Violence (FAV) is looking for a volunteer to support with monitoring and evaluation of their projects.

In 2021/22, FAM secured funding from 23 different sources for 14 separate projects.  Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) information is needed for each of the projects, tailored to the requirements of the individual funder.  Each funder then needs a customised report (sometimes several over the life of the project) to be able to access the success and impact of the funding.

Timely, comprehensive and convincing M&E reports often make a difference as to whether the funder provides further financial support. Also, these reports can often be a rich source of information to help make bids to other funders.  Obviously, the reports can also help the charity better understand its operational performance and identify areas for improvement. FAM needs to reinforce its capabilities in this area.

Specifically, we want to recruit a volunteer to:

  • design a base M&E requirement for all fam activities / projects and work with the project managers to determine how best the base m&e data can be obtained
  • Determine what additional M&E requirements each funder imposes, convert those into a data collection plan and work with the relevant project managers to ensure compliance
  • Collect the M&E data from the project managers after each session and identify and chase any shortcomings
  • Write M&E reports for funders as per the required schedule.

Skills & experience required

  • A good organiser with administrative experience
  • Needs to be able to take a firm approach with the project managers where necessary and needs to know when to escalate an issue
  • Good written skills
  • Basic spreadsheet skills
